@Kath_Dalmeny @betterNHSfood @doctors_kitchen My wife will never forget being served faggots in the maternity wing of Bath RUH as her first meal after giving birth. Could have been nutritious and definitely better than the toasted sandwich from the vending machine in the hall outside, but not first choice for recovery.

@Kath_Dalmeny @betterNHSfood @doctors_kitchen Somewhat unbelievable, given how closely linked our health is to nutrition, both mental and physical health. Brain cells in our belly are directly connected those in our head. Bacteria in our gut directly influence hormone production determining our mood and wellbeing.

@MLiebreich I'm not sure #HVACMaintenanceHour will catch on in the same way. :) Perhaps #EarthHour could be expanded to encompass HVAC + lighting so you have both meaningful + visible savings. The quick ROI from HVAC opex savings could help pay for a permanent lighting upgrade.

@EarthShuttle Indeed. And yet people who can't be arsed to maintain their HVAC systems want to turn off their lights for an hour a year and feel all sanctified by the symbolism. We should replace #EarthHour with #HVACMaintenanceHour!

@MLiebreich There is an invisible problem of high energy wastage in offices. Not from the lights. From the HVAC hidden in ceilings, basement and on the roof. On average 10%-30% of energy can be saved just by making sure HVAC runs properly in new & old properties, even the 'greenest' ones.
